Triads

It is very important to study triads. It took quite a while for me to realize this. Hope you realize it as early as possible.

Triads are chords constituted of three notes. Basically, triads comprise root, 3rd, and 5th.

Let’s go back to degrees described in Chapter 3.
Triads are very simple, but I assure you can get so many ideas by studying this chapter.

① Major Triads

C Triad

② Minor Triads

C minor Triad

③ Diminished Triads

C Diminished Triad

④ Augmented Triads

C Augmented Triad

⑤ Sus2 Triads

C Sus2 Triad

⑥ Sus4 Triads

C Sus4 Triad

5 and 6 are mysterious sounds that are neither major nor minor.
This is because the chords do not include the third that determines whether the chord is a major or minor chord. Thus, the floating sound is obtained.
